Mărțișor is a traditional Romanian symbol of spring, renewal and good fortune, offered at the beginning of March as a gesture of friendship, hope and affection, and closely connected to the celebration of International Women’s Day on 8 March, honouring femininity, creativity and the regenerative power of life.
Inspired by this meaningful tradition, the Mărțișor Concert invites audiences to a refined musical experience in which voice, cello and piano come together in a programme dedicated to renewal, light and emotional connection, drawn from the classical and contemporary repertoire.
In parallel with the concert, the event will feature a special exhibition of handmade Mărțișor objects, created by students of the Nicolae Tonitza High School of Fine Arts, Bucharest - curator Anca Maria Ciofîrlă. The exhibition offers a visual reflection of spring, creativity and cultural continuity.
The concert will take place in several venues:
King House, Boyle - Sunday, 1 March 2026, from 4.00PM
The Embassy of Romania to Ireland, Dublin - Monday, 2 March, from 5.00PM
Claregalway Castel - Wednesday, 4 March 2026, 7.30PM (opening with Romanian wine tasting at 7.00PM)
